We are Kevan’s parents. And, we really aren’t the kind of people who “do” websites. Kevan would probably laugh at us. However, we think, sometimes, of friends, or others, who might “Google” Kevan’s name and what they might find. After Kevan was killed the ether was filled with ugly and mean things. Newspapers spread innuendo, rumor and lies. Scared and pitiful people said horrid things. So…before you look further, pause here, with us. | ![]() |

If you know Kevan you know that he was lovely. He was smart, funny and kind. He was impulsive, irreverent and creative. Like all of us, he was wonderful and irritating. He loved us, and his sisters. He loved his friends, and, especially, he loved Audrey, Jamin, Aaron, Roman and Ian. He loved his dog, Sarah, and his cat, St. Pugnatious. He loved his room, and his car. And, never forget, he loved his computer and his television. |
On the night Kevan was killed he made some terrible mistakes. They are the mistakes that young people often make. He died because he was a kid, and thought like a kid. On the night that Kevan was killed, an off-duty police officer made some mistakes. They are the kind of mistakes that no grown man should ever make. Kevan, and the man whose car he hit, died because a grown man also thought like a kid. In their fear and horror public officials sought and continue to seek to blame many others. That is the story you will read if you surf for more. |
All that we ask is that you know that our child is beloved beyond words. He was good and full of hope. Our hearts are broken. Please do not be part of anything that hurts us, Kevan’s friends, or Kevan’s memory more than we have already been hurt. |
Thank you. |
